Flat forehead street dance hat manufacturers explain that the demand for pure cotton thread in the textile industry is increasing, and the quality requirements are also getting higher. So how can we distinguish the quality of pure cotton thread from semi bleached cotton thread?
The quality of pure cotton thread is mainly determined by three indicators:
One is glossiness: The glossiness of cotton thread is better when the color is bright and shiny. Poor quality threads look dull and dull, giving the impression of lifeless and unclear. The quality of glossiness mainly depends on the silk finishing treatment of the spun cotton and yarn. As for domestic embryo cotton, Xinjiang's long staple cotton is better. Its cotton fibers are long and have good whiteness, so its fastness is also good when made into thread. After being further treated with silk light and singeing, the cotton thread will become shiny.
The second is fastness: the fastness of cotton thread mainly depends on the length and twist elasticity of cotton fibers. Generally, as long as it's strong enough, it's not necessarily the stronger the better.
The third is color fastness: (i.e. whether it will fade). Color fastness mainly depends on dyeing. Dyeing is divided into direct color and reactive dye. The line color dyed by direct color is dull and prone to fading; The line color dyed by active fuel is bright and not easy to fade. There is a simple method to detect whether cotton thread will fade. Simply put a small amount of thread and soap powder into a disposable cup, add boiling water (preferably just boiled), and stir. If it fades, it indicates that the quality of the thread is problematic. Otherwise, you can use it with confidence.
In practical operation, we can also use the following methods to distinguish between pure cotton thread and semi bleached cotton thread.
Look and touch. Polyester thread feels non smooth or noticeably too smooth, with excessive elasticity. Its color is not standard or bright, and it looks dull and dull. Moreover, upon closer inspection, there are many and long hairs. And pure cotton cross stitch thread feels smooth to the touch, looks very shiny, has relatively thin threads, and upon closer inspection, the hair is short and few.
Burn it. We can also take this most direct approach, burning it with a lighter. The polyester cross stitch thread burns with low firepower and is accompanied by a large amount of black smoke and toxic gas. When burning, there are black residue droplets, which feel like burning plastic. The cross stitch pure cotton thread has strong firepower and no smoke when burned, and can be burned all at once, with white residue. These two methods can easily distinguish between polyester thread and cross stitch pure cotton thread, so we don't have to worry about mixing them up anymore.
